What we are looking for

Your role will be at a senior level working within the Infrastructure Delivery team to provide BAU and project support for a Microsoft stack in a highly available environment, including implementation, production support, project implementation support, performance monitoring and tuning, configuration management, upgrades, patching, data migration and automation. The Infrastructure Delivery Engineers liaise with various parts of the organisation to support all aspects of the infrastructure across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 3 rd line BAU support for the Helpdesk, resolving infrastructure related issues within SLA targets
• Senior escalation for BAU and major incidents
• Installation, configuration, advanced troubleshooting and performance management experience of the following technologies:
  • Active Directory including Group Policy
  • Windows Server
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Hyper-V
  • SQL Administration
  • Networking including Firewalls, load balancers, Cisco routers and switches
  • Skype Telephony and related infrastructure including Contact Centre and Call Recording applications
  • McAfee EPO and Cloud Gateways
• Form part of the Major Incident Team when required relating to escalated Major and Priority incidents
• Change and project implementation
• Perform proactive maintenance of Infrastructure environment as required
• Working with the Security Team to minimize the risk of security breaches within the PC / Server environment (via Anti Virus, patching, domain policies, server hardening etc)
• Maintain the application deployment mechanism for PCs / Servers (SCCM)
• To ensure compliance with IT infrastructure policies, standards, procedures and guidelines.
• Keep up to date with the latest developments within IT
• Delivering an effective operation built on development and professional standards
• Takes proactive ownership of complex operational issues and provide appropriate support to other team members

Essential

• Experience in a similar size environment performing an infrastructure support role at a senior level
• Relevant knowledge of technologies, ITIL processes and practices
• Advanced troubleshooting skills
• Aptitude to learn new technologies
• Assertive and self-managed
• Excellent communication skills and an ability to work effectively and within a busy team
• Accurate and methodical in your approach to tasks and troubleshooting

  • National travel required occasionally
• Working Hours
• 5 hour working week. Core hours - 08:00-18:00
• On-call shift required approximately once every 5-6 weeks on a rota basis.
• Saturday morning shift required approximately once every 6 weeks on a rota basis (overtime) Bank Holiday cover also provided on the same basis.
• Out of hours work as required
