Job overview
As a Senior Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer you will be responsible for the delivery of day to day services within the infrastructure team. As part of small multi-disciplined team you will be jointly responsible for the following (but not limited to) technologies Storage, Virtualized platforms, Security and AV services, Domain Services, Proxy, Windows and Linux systems, Containerized platforms (Docker and Azure AKS), Monitoring services and Public Cloud services (Office 365, Hybrid Email and Azure ARM) and backup services maintaining operational efficiency and above SLA performance. SLAM have widely adopted cloud platforms, and the role will be to support the develop of native cloud applications or refactor existing legacy systems for cloud using IAAS, SAAS, PAAS and Kubernetes systems.

Main duties of the job
Being a senior Infrastructure and Cloud technical expert, you will be required to mentor and coach other members of the ICT service department for career development. You will work closely with all elements of the ICT service to deliver the best outcomes of the service and for customers. Offering a "can do", proactive approach to service delivery and ultimately delivering for the service needs. You will be a member off, and not limited to, the ICT Department Business Continuity team and part of the ICT out of hours emergency Support rota.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Job Purpose:
As a Senior Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer you will be responsible for the delivery of day to day services within the infrastructure team. SLAM have widely adopted cloud platforms, and the role will be to support the develop of native cloud applications or refactor existing legacy systems for cloud using IAAS, SAAS, PAAS and Kubernetes systems. Being a senior Infrastructure and Cloud technical expert, you must be able to adapt your knowledge to new, emerging and legacy technologies covering as technical reference in the absence of other senior team members to maintain service for customers. A proactive worker thinking outside the box to maintain or reinstate service for customers driving efficiency.

Provide Senior Technical Services lead for Identity Services, Storage, Virtualized platforms, Security and AV services, Domain Services, Proxy, Windows and Linux systems, Containerized platforms (Docker and Azure AKS), Monitoring services and Public Cloud services ((Office 365, Hybrid Email and Azure ARM) and backup services maintaining operational efficiency and above SLA performance.
BAU Administration of the groups platform services for Storage, Virtualized platforms, Security and AV services, Domain Services, Proxy, Windows and Linux systems, Containerized platforms (Docker and Azure AKS), Monitoring services and Public Cloud services ((Office 365, Hybrid Email and Azure ARM) and backup services maintaining operational efficiency and above SLA performance.
Monitor the trusts Infrastructure Services platform to make sure that service levels are met for the customer
Infrastructure design and implementation for new services with external support as required.
Undertake evaluations of new and emerging technologies and make recommendations regarding their suitability and possible implementation
Maintain and document services in accordance with Trust systems
Support and mentor team members as required for personal development and knowledge transfer
Other activity from time to time as required to support the operation of Infrastructure Service's

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience
- Vmware VCP or equivalent experience
- Relevant application services accreditations
- MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure
- ITIL Foundation Version 3
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of troubleshooting complex technology issues identifying the root cause.
- Relevant experience of hands-on ICT server administration in an enterprise environment
- Ability to administer and maintain Identity Services, Storage, Virtualized platforms, Security and AV services, Domain Services, Proxy, Windows and Linux systems, Containerized platforms (Docker and Azure AKS), Monitoring services and Public Cloud services ((Office 365, Hybrid Email and Azure ARM) and backup services maintaining operational efficiency and above SLA performance
- Experience of creating and configuring hardware configurations for Server specifications.
- Ability to identify the Root cause of issues
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and other common desktop software such as antivirus and productivity suites
- Experience of designing and administering group policies objects for the forests.
- Familiarity with IP networking and basic tools for troubleshooting in a routed network
- Experience of Storage Infrastructure Administration
- Deployed and manage patch management solutions for Enterprise environment Management of Proxy Services
- Experience of administration of Public Cloud platforms and the design of cloud native applications
- Experience of supporting DEVOPS environments include continuous deployment methods and Kubernetes systems
- Experience in automations methods for private and public cloud offerings. Utilising but not exclusively automation using Vrealize, Powershell, JSON, ARM Templates or Terraform.
Desirable criteria
- Relevant experience administering and maintaining Office 365 and Hybrid Exchange Environments
- Knowledge of Office 365 and Hybrid Exchange platforms
- Experience in maintaining and supporting Linux server infrastructure
- Relevant experience administering a complex multi domain Active Directory environment of around 50k objects and 100+ sites using the relevant tools to assist.
- Experience in Managing and Martian Domain services such as FSMO roles, DNS, DHCP in an enterprise environment
- SQL Administration on premise and cloud
- Administration of backup technologies
