Role Summary

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust are looking to recruit a Senior IG Specialist within the Information Governance Team. The role will have its own key areas of responsibility, working closely with the other Senior IG Specialists and the Head of Information Governance and Data Protection Officer (DPO) to provide resilience in supporting the Trust and delivering the IG agenda. They will have a sound understanding of current legislative requirements and will monitor continually changing technology advances and national requirements.

They will have responsibility for providing evidence to meet the DSPT and covering other IG related work as required. They will be responsible for managing other members of the IG Team to ensure legislative and organisational requirements are met.

We are looking for a subject matter expert on all IG and data protection related matters. As part of the IG management team, you will support the Head of Information Governance and DPO in managing the IG agenda, providing expert advice and guidance on confidentiality, data protection, freedom of information and information security.

You should have excellent communication skills, attention to detail and problem-solving skills with a true passion for doing the right thing for our patients and staff.

The applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills and be a team player who can deliver quality outcomes to agreed timescales.

The role may deputise for the Head of Information Governance and DPO as and when required.

The role will be based in either Exeter or Barnstaple and can be hybrid working, with the opportunity to work up to 3 days a week from home.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, normal office hours
