LCC, Digital Services - Senior ICT Technical Support Officer (Grade 7)

The successful candidate will be working within the ICT Service Centre 'Theta' Team:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for acting as a technical reference for services the team support, continuous training of existing staff alongside training new staff and effectively coach & mentor junior staff. You will also need to assist the Theta team leader and stand in for periods of their absence.

This is a frontline role, within the ICT Service Centre, so you will also be providing 1st & 2nd line support to customer via inbound telephony, ICT Portal incidents and Face to Face interactions.

In this role you will be supporting the following technologies:

  • Web Applications, examples: LiquidLogic, HAMS, PAMS, Cerberus, Birth/Death, Documentum, Liberty Create, Alto and many more
  • Oracle Fusion
  • Specialised Software and SCCM Software Installation, examples: Adobe products, AutoCAD, Dragon etc
  • Web Filtering including the new SkyHigh proxies.

You will achieve this by:

  • Your ability to act as a technical reference for the team.
  • Being able to organise, measure and monitor performance.
  • Your ability to mentor and motivate junior staff.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Your ability to use initiative, analyse situations and identify the service needs of the customer.
  • An understanding and practical experience of ITIL.

You must be prepared to work flexibly on various shift patterns, across the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Flexible working from home arrangements are available, however there is a minimum commitment of days, per week, on premises at County Hall, Preston, PR1 0LD - based on service needs.

Undertake, wherever required, other responsibilities and duties including work related to 3rd party external business, on behalf of the company, where this is commensurate with the grade of the post. This may entail working from other locations.
