Bristol City Council's Trading with Schools division is recruiting an IT professional to build on our highly regarded support to schools and other educational settings in Bristol.

We are seeking to appoint a Senior ICT Officer to manage our Schools' Internet Service which is an important element in our traded IT services offered to schools.

Good technical skills are not enough - you must also be an excellent communicator. As part of the highly performing ICT team you will manage all aspects of our internet and associated services, and benefit from close working with a group of IT professionals committed to raising standards in Bristol schools and academies.

This is a both a technically demanding and a customer-facing role. You will have experience of management of linux systems running on virtual infrastructures, switches, routers, and web filtering and backup technologies, as well as an ability to troubleshoot networking problems. Equally important is the ability to communicate clearly with suppliers, other IT teams and non-technical staff in schools.
