Role Summary
The post holder will be expected to flexibly deliver 4-5 clinical sessions per week (combination of endoscopy and outpatient clinics). Training, tailored to the individual, in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy is available and encouraged, e.g. in EUS, ERCP, enteroscopy and capsule endoscopy. There are also opportunities to gain more experience in the field of nutrition and intestinal failure.
Inflammatory bowel disease is the major focus of the post, and the post holder will gain experience in the inpatient and outpatient management of patients as well as provide support for the IBD nurse specialists and IBD research nurses delivering commercial clinical trials.
The post holder will become an active member of the Exeter IBD Research Group and will be supported to develop and deliver their own research project. The post holder will be encouraged to attend regional, national and international IBD meetings.
The post holder may wish to participate in the out of hours medical rota, however this is not compulsory. They will receive educational supervision and support.

We are looking for a Senior Fellow to join the Exeter Inflammatory Bowel Disease team on a two year fixed term basis from September 2025. The post-holder will join the multidisciplinary clinical and research teams delivering clinics, endoscopy lists and participating in research activities including commercial clinical trials. The post holder will be encouraged to attend regional, national and international IBD meetings and will also receive educational supervision and support.
