We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join us to develop, implement and manage the HR Service to this exciting new joint venture project.

About the Project:

Egis and VVB Engineering have been appointed to support the delivery of Old Oak Common Station, the London interchange for HS2. As a new 'super-hub', Old Oak Common Station is set to be the best-connected and largest new railway station ever constructed in Britain.

The Anthro joint venture is an equal partnership between Egis and VVB Engineering that will provide comprehensive turn-key services for London's state-of-the-art HS2 gateway station. These services cover mechanical, electrical, public health, fire and communications systems within the Old Oak Common project.

The project leverages Egis' in-depth expertise in delivering turn-key solutions for major infrastructure projects with VVB Engineering's extensive self-delivery capability in mechanical, electrical, fire and telecommunications systems.

This is an 18 month fixed term contract, looking for someone to work part time, four days a week, with three of these based on site at Old Oak Common and one day working at home, with occasional travel to our London head office.

Employed by Egis but reporting jointly to the Egis UK HRD and the VVB People Director, you will work closely with your colleagues and stakeholders to attract, develop, and retain top talent within the project and to support the entire life cycle of the employee experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in a unionised environment and will have strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

  • Employee Relations will be a key aspect of your role and you will be the first line contact for your managers and stakeholders, escalating cases as necessary
  • HR system implementation and maintenance
  • Reporting, analysing and implementing solutions based on data
  • HR policy and best practice
  • Employee engagement
  • Learning and DEVELOPMENT
  • Apprentices and graduates

Qualifications

Qualifications, Experience & Skills :

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree or HR certification is a plus. Minimum of CIPD level 5, ideally level 7
  • Extensive progressive HR experience with a focus on business partnership, unionised environments and employee relations
  • Excellent understanding of Employment Law to support Employee Relations activity
  • Significant experience operating in a blue collar context
  • Digital acumen and the ability to analyse Management Information

Skills & Expertise:

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business needs into HR solutions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders from around the business. As such, you will need to be able to present effectively to different levels of seniority as well as influence your stakeholders to incorporate the HR activity in their plans
  • You will be able to manage multiple tasks at once and also able to demonstrate that you work well both as part of a team and independently. It is essential that you can manage expectations amongst internal clients whilst driving the application of HR policies and processes.
  • Experience of working within organisations having had responsibility for trade union relationships
  • Generalist HR experience, solid exposure to Employee Relations, and excellent employment law knowledge
  • Ability to use HR data, metrics, and evidence to inform and drive decision making and change across your business areas
