Job overview

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Advisor to join our HR team supporting a number of divisions and directorates across the Trust and working alongside a People Business Partner in the delivery of People Priorities and objectives.

This role provides support to managers and staff in our divisional areas offering advice regarding terms and conditions of employment and supporting a range of employee relations case work, including, disciplinary, grievance, performance management and sickness absence management.

You'll have good teamwork skills and have experience of a busy and diverse workload, prioritising effectively at all times.

Being flexible is a key aspect of this role alongside the proven ability to develop and maintain relationships across a wide range of staff groups, as well as ensuring a partnership working approach.

Main duties of the job

The Senior HR Adviser provides advice and support to line managers on a range of human resource management issues including, but not limited to, change management and individual employee relations issues such as discipline, grievance management, poor performance and attendance and workplace dispute management. A key function of the role is to develop the skill and capacity of managers to empower them to manage people issues effectively and independently. The Senior HR Adviser is a member of P&OD and plays a key role in supporting the review and development of workforce policies, procedures, tools, training and quality improvement systems.

EDUCATION

Essential criteria

  • Graduate or person with significant relevant experience
  • CIPD level 7 (or equivalent qualification)

SKILLS / ABILITIES

Essential criteria

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Analytical skills to highlight issues and areas of concern
  • Discretion and diplomacy when dealing with confidential or sensitive information

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of advising on TUPE cases

EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria

  • Proven employee relations experience, and experience of dealing with complex and challenging cases
  • Development and delivery of HR related training

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of a large, highly complex organisation
