Education/ Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Evidence of continued development

Desirable criteria

• Care certificate or NVQ

Knowledge, Training & Experience

Essential criteria

• Experience (through placements or employment) of working in a busy environment.
• To work effectively as part of a team
• Basic literacy and arithmetic skills
• Understands the importance of confidentiality
• Insight into the needs of patients and colleagues

Desirable criteria

• Understands the principles of clinical governance
• Shows awareness of risk assessment and risk management
• Previous experience of working as a Nursing Assistant/ HCSW
• Previous experience or a passion to work with Frailty and Dementia patients

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

Essential criteria

• Good communication - verbal/written
• Able to work well in a team
• Can build a good rapor with patients

Special Attributes and Other Requirements

• Shows motivation in developing new skills
• High level of interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate empathy and diplomacy

• Ability to work from both hospital sites as required to meet the demands of the service
