Summary

As Senior Head of Product Management, you will create vision, set direction, and lead delivery of an entire digital product portfolio, typically overseeing over 15-20 product teams. You will create, refine and deliver product strategies and roadmaps, establish budgets, and implement product management disciplines to create innovative, digital products that customers love and drive commercial value at scale.

To stay close to customers, our support teams are in the office three days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected.

What you'll do

Colleague Systems Portfolio:

  • Accountability for Enterprise Finance, HR, Property product platforms, including long-term transformation roadmaps, near-term roadmaps and ongoing operational support.
  • Drive vision, strategy, and delivery against business critical areas such as Finance Systems (SAP Transformation), Future Finance Strategy, Time and Attendance Systems, Payroll, Core People systems and Property technology.
  • Unlock innovation by exploring market leading technology transforming Colleague Workplace technology.
  • Enable functional solutions that allow teams to become more autonomous, and reduce time-to-market, and time to achieve product market fit.
  • Create operational excellence around scaled services and cultivate a culture of empowered and accountable teams.

Product Strategy & Vision:

  • Play a lead role in defining product strategy, translating commercial strategy into compelling vision for Digital Products
  • Drive alignment across stakeholder groups through communicating vision and how to achieve it
  • Act as catalyst in Board-level strategy work on the role of colleague workplace technology and the evolving landscape
  • Regularly communicate progress against the Product vision to refine, surface key decisions
  • Create formal processes with key decision makers across the company to help share, prioritise and manage their needs as stakeholders

Execution:

  • Create Digital Products that enable colleague efficiency in our Finance and HR teams, improve productivity across the business and improve the user experience for all colleagues.
  • Improve colleague satisfaction (NPS, Net Easy Score) of portfolio products by addressing core colleague and operational pain points
  • Deliver operational and commercial value by delivering innovative digital solutions
  • Form deep partnerships with Technology, Programme and UX to establish ways of working that create the best digital solutions
  • Manage budgets and return on investment, constantly balancing short term return against long term strategic value
  • Implement data-drive methods to evaluate success and value in insightful ways

Leadership:

  • Manage senior leaders throughout the company and ensure transparency in purpose, decision making, and progress
  • Build strong relationships across the business and form partnerships to both identify and tackle hard problems
  • Hire, mentor, and develop Product Management talent
  • Build out a strong product management function that puts innovation and customer at the heart of what we do
  • Lead with authenticity and empathy to continually inspire and create high performing teams

Drive Product-led Culture:

  • Establish philosophy and implement best practices to create Digital Products that customers love at scale
  • Establish modern and agile approach to product within the organisation, creating a "product-led" environment, culture, and ways of working
  • Create processes and systems to maximise value creation of digital products
  • Serve as an internal evangelist for the Product Management function, and as external spokesperson for the organization
  • Act as a key member of the M&S Digital team and ensure M&S becomes a place to attract top digital talent
