What you'll work on

As a Senior Hardware Manager, you will oversee the design, development, and delivery of our body-worn cameras, battery charging equipment, and wireless accessories. You will manage the full hardware lifecycle, from concept through to production, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and performance. This role is a critical leadership position within the hardware team, where you'll drive product innovation, manage manufacturing relationships, and ensure timely execution of hardware deliverables.

Day to Day

    • Lead the design and development process for body-worn cameras and related accessories, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality hardware products.
    • Oversee the creation and testing of prototypes, ensuring designs are rigorously tested, debugged, and refined to meet product standards.
    • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including hardware designs, specifications, and bill of materials (BOM).
    • Collaborate with manufacturing suppliers and contractors to ensure quality control throughout the design and manufacturing processes.
    • Manage product compliance with industry standards, including CE, UKCA, FCC, IC, and other relevant certifications.
    • Work closely with product management, software teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the hardware meets product requirements and supports overall business goals.

About You

    • You have a deep understanding of hardware design, including video, audio, power management, and wireless communications.
    • Strong knowledge of product compliance and testing, including safety, RF transmission, IP/IK, and reliability testing.
    • Proven experience in managing and developing teams, driving accountability, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
    • You bring a creative mindset to hardware design, always looking for ways to innovate and improve product offerings.
    • You work well with other teams, ensuring that hardware development is aligned with broader product and business goals.
    • Fluency in Mandarin is required to liaise effectively with suppliers and partners in Mandarin-speaking regions.
    • Able to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment, with a focus on timely delivery and high-quality standards

Your Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in hardware design and development, preferably in video security products or related fields.
    • Mandarin language proficiency is highly preferred to effectively communicate with suppliers and partners
    • Strong knowledge of schematics, PCB design, and hardware troubleshooting.
    • Experience in managing the full hardware product lifecycle, including manufacturing and product compliance.
    • Familiarity with embedded development platforms (e.g., ARM, MIPS, RISC) and EDA tools (e.g., OrCad, Allegro, SolidWorks).
    • Knowledge of RF design, product security, and firmware development is an advantage.
