Job Purpose

RWS is recruiting a Senior Group Reporting Accountant who will operate as the primary support to the Deputy Group Financial Controller, playing a key role in Group reporting, technical accounting, system transformation, and financial governance across the Group. The role requires you to be highly resourceful with a continuous improvement mindset for processes and controls. You will play a key role in ensuring the business fulfils its legal obligation and maintains strong financial standing.

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

Group Systems, Reporting & Governance

  • Support FCC go-live and ensure FCC is fully aligned with EPM Planning, with clean ERP integrations, stable mappings, and controlled chart-of-accounts and access rights.
  • Support preparation of Group consolidated results, disclosures, and technical papers, coordinating with local teams to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Lead Group and local audit activities, driving consistent audit standards and enhancing audit readiness across global finance teams.
  • Assist in updating the Group Policies and Procedures Manual by reviewing existing guidance, identifying gaps or inconsistencies, and helping implement clear, standardised processes that strengthen financial governance across all regions.
  • Assist with the assessment and rollout IFRS 18 changes across reporting structures and EPM
  • Assist with external reporting, including preparation of the half-year and year-end Annual Report, ensuring high-quality disclosures, accurate supporting schedules and timely coordination with Group auditors

Technical Accounting & Compliance

  • Perform FX gain/loss and exposure analysis at entity and Group level and propose practical risk-mitigation strategies i.e. hedging.
  • Manage IFRS 2 share-based payment accounting by understanding grant valuations, fair-value modelling, expense recognition and forfeiture assessments, and by working closely with external plan administrators to ensure all data and calculations are accurate, complete and up to date for Group reporting and audit purposes.
  • Lead R&D accounting and capitalisation assessments including review capitalisation decisions, UEL impacts, and provide guidance to global finance teams to improve consistency and control.
  • Review revenue recognition and ensure IFRS 15 compliance across the Group by assessing revenue forms, ensure alignment with Group policies

Financial Oversight & Risk Assessments

  • Support impairment reviews and CGU identification
  • Assist in investment and goodwill impairment testing, CGU allocation, modelling, and audit support documentation.
  • Support going concern and viability assessments

Corporate Structure & Strategic Projects

  • Support entity rationalisation projects
  • Assist in assessing, planning and delivering mergers, closures or simplifications, coordinating with Tax, Legal and local teams and updating FCC/EPM structures post-rationalisation

Skills & Experience

  • Newly qualified or 1-2 years post-qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent), ideally trained in a Big Four environment with strong exam results and excellent performance feedback.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including confident use of formulas, pivot tables, Xlookups, data manipulation and large dataset analysis
  • Strong technical grounding in IFRS, with exposure to complex standards through audit (e.g., consolidations, revenue, share-based payments, financial instruments).
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to work through problems independently,
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging with senior finance staff, auditors and global local finance teams.
  • Proactive, adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
  • Experience with multi-currency or international group audits, with a strong desire to build further expertise in Group Finance.
