The Opportunity:

At Rovco we are busy making offshore hydrographic and subsea survey more autonomous, using autonomous ships, and underwater robots enabled by our computer vision, AI, and data technology.

We are looking for a Senior GIS - Marine Site Characterisation Specialist on a permanent basis. You do not need to have renewables experience for this role, giving you a fantastic opportunity to join the renewables revolution!

To assist with the data delivery activities of Rovco's hydrographic survey and inspection projects. Ensuring quality control and assurance of data complies with the project scope of work. Delivery of survey data acquired from vessel/USV/AUV/ROV platforms and to produce survey data products for GIS/SSDM, charts and reports.

Main Responsibilities

  • QC & QA of survey data.
  • Creation and delivery of survey datasets and reports.
  • Development and maintenance of Rovco charting standards.
  • Producing GIS / SSDM projects and GIS/CAD charts.
  • Project preparation and planning.
  • Data management of hydrographic survey and inspection data.
  • Provide support to the offshore team.
  • Setup and administration of GIS/CAD hardware and software.
  • Developing methodologies, standards, and training material.
  • Provide guidance on best practice and solutions to achieve deliverables.
  • Identification, acceptance and implementation of new GIS technologies, techniques and practices.

You should apply if you have:

Essential:

  • Survey/hydrographic/ocean science/data related degree
  • Previous working experience as a GIS Technician/Analyst
  • Experience with offshore survey projects and creation of charts and GIS deliverables
  • Experience with site characterisation data and deliverables.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro, Esri apps and Spatial Map Series
  • Experience with Python and ModelBuilder
  • Automating Workflows Using ArcGIS Pro Tasks

Desirable:

  • FME experience
  • SQL experience
  • QGIS experience
  • Microsoft Power BI experience
  • Experience with data management
  • Creation and output of statistics on projects for progress reports and final reports.
