About the role

Balfour Beatty are looking for a Senior GIS Analysist to join thier Power T&D Division in Scotland.

Role purpose:

To manage & develop BB GIS Data for our Overhead Line & Cabling projects across the UK.

Liaise with Site Operative, Environmental & Design teams for the population, distribution & upkeep of GIS Data, responsible for supporting GIS systems and delivering GIS deliverables to the client.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to drive and evolve our ArcGIS and maintain BB high standards.

What you'll be doing

Key Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrate BB Behaviours.
  • Lead & provide support to the team in delivering GIS requirements.
  • Create GIS data to be used across the project.
  • Create GIS based map outputs.
  • Leading delivery of required GIS data to internal and external clients.
  • Managing data and assuring data to the required standards.
  • Work closely with Site Operatives/ Environmental/ Designers/ BIM & CAD teams to convert data between formats.
  • Lead the development of GIS based technology.
  • Engage with and support GIS users to deal with queries and improve efficiency.
  • Engage with users to help improve their work and deal with queries.

Who we're looking for

Skills Required:

The following qualities/experience are essential:

  • Experience in data quality and assurance
  • Experience in successfully managing and producing data
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of ESRI Geodatabases & Ordnance Survey
  • Experience building and creating map outputs
  • Excellent organisational skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and under minimum supervision
  • Ability to work on your own and part of a team
  • Experience with ArcGIS Online/ArcGIS Portal
  • The following qualities/experience are desirable:
  • Experience with QGIS
  • Experience managing user accounts
  • Knowledge of BIM
