We're looking for a Senior Java Engineer to:
• design, develop, and improve the digital products and technology services we provide to our clients
• apply a broad range of software engineering practices, from analyzing user needs and developing new features to automated testing and deployment
• ensure the quality, security, reliability, and compliance of our solutions by applying our digital principles and implementing both functional and non-functional requirements
• build observability into our solutions, monitor production health, help to resolve incidents, and remediate the root cause of risks and issues
• Bring fresh ideas and help evolve of our best in class Quantitative Investment Strategies platform
• understand, represent, and advocate for client needs
• share knowledge and expertise with colleagues , help with hiring, and contribute regularly to our engineering culture and internal communities.

Your team

You'll be working in the Structured Product & Solutions team in London, UK. focusing on delivering best in class technology solutions for the Quantitative Investment Strategies business. We work as a fast paced, delivery focused global team releasing new software multiple times a week and where our close partnership with our business colleagues is a key strength. We take pride in the quality of deliveries and removing obstacles that reduce our velocity.

Your expertise

• ideally 8+ years of experience as a software engineer and proven expertise in full stack developement
• interested in learning new technologies and practices, reuse of strategic platforms and adoption of standards
• possess an ability to evaluate technical options and make decisions with long-term sustainability in mind
• disciplined in Agile work practices.
• analytically minded; able to identify areas for improvement and have the passion to refactor
• strong communicator, able to analyse results in a structured way and use data to deliver succinct messages to senior stakeholders.
• passionate about the 'digital' and how it can impact financial services. Interested in emergent technologies with ideas on how to apply them to business challenges
• prior experience in Quantitative Investment Strategies or other relevant experience derivatives experience particularly in quoting or risk
• experience of cloud migrations, particularly Azure
• delivered solutions using containers, Kubernetes or serverless
• web backend experience; Java, Microservices, Spring, Spring Boot
• web UI experience; Java script, HTML, Angular JS, Type Script
• knowledge of Oracle database
• experience with test automation (Java, Cucumber)
