We are on the lookout for a talented and experienced Senior Applications Fluid Systems Engineer to join our innovative and dynamic team. In this crucial role, you will be at the forefront of replacing obsolete auxiliary equipment, ensuring our products remain reliable and efficient. Your day will be filled with exciting design, coordination, and problem-solving activities, working closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical design, controls, and electrical engineers to seamlessly integrate your designs into projects.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • System Upgrades: Utilise cutting-edge systems and technologies to boost the performance and reliability of our gas turbine package auxiliary equipment.
  • Technical Interface: Collaborate with internal departments, regional divisions, suppliers, and customers to ensure project upgrades are completed within budget and on schedule.
  • Standardisation: Create and document solutions that can be consistently applied across various projects.
  • Obsolescence Management: Identify and source replacements for outdated components and systems to maintain equipment functionality.
  • Product Improvement: Propose and implement package upgrades to enhance the overall product life-cycle.
  • Documentation: Generate and maintain essential engineering documentation such as purchase specifications, design calculations, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and technical reports.
  • Sales Support: Provide expert technical recommendations to support future upgrades.

What You Bring:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. An HNC in Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Relevant Experience: Several years of proven experience in a Fluid Systems or equivalent role within a related industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in fluid system components and technologies, such as pumps, valves, piping, actuators, and instrumentation.
  • Software Proficiency: Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software and 2D CAD software is advantageous, while experience with the MS Office Suite is essential.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and coordination abilities.
  • Self-Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver them within set timescales.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong capability to troubleshoot engineering challenges independently.
  • Attitude: A proactive and positive attitude, with attention to detail and the ability to think clearly and solve problems effectively.

Additional Requirements

While the position is primarily office-based, with hybrid working options available, occasional international travel for customer and vendor meetings, along with site surveys, will be required.

Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment and also function effectively as an individual contributor in a hybrid work setting.
