Kiwa Fire Safety Compliance (KFS) have an exciting opening for a Senior Fire Safety Engineer to join our team. Working as part of a specialised engineering consultancy in a supportive and diverse team of established fire engineers. This is a remote based role with occasional travel to the office in Aylesbury.

This is the perfect role if you are looking to advance your career in fire engineering. As a Senior Fire Safety Engineer, you will provide technical support and management of other members of the Fire Safety Engineering Team.

About the role

  • Delivery of fire safety projects on time and within budget, within limits of your expertise.
  • Provide support to fire safety engineers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, including support in reviewing of reports.
  • Contribute to the team financial performance by maintaining high utilisation levels and meeting personal invoicing goals.
  • Undertake work which will demonstrate compliance with current legislation and aligns with the Company's operational procedures.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • You will be able to deliver work in accordance with agreed time scales and budgets.
  • You will assist the sales and estimating team in the bidding process of future work and developing/strengthening networking channels.
  • Contribute to a positive culture within the FSE team.
  • Support the development of Kiwa employees in line with their individual goals and aspirations as identified from their Accomplishment Review.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Gained a Level 7 qualification in Fire Engineering or equivalent engineering master's degree Good knowledge of relevant standards and fire safety legislation.
  • Relevant industry experience.
  • Membership of a professional body such as IFE, CABE, CIBSE is expected, and continue your professional development to IEng and ultimately CEng (Engineering Council).
  • Proficient knowledge of relevant fire safety standards and fire safety legislation, fire engineering knowledge and understanding to apply technical and practical skills.
  • Technical and functional responsibility with supervision of fire safety engineers.
  • The ability to perform advanced tasks typically without significant supervision.
  • Effective interpersonal skills in communicating technical matters and project management skills.
  • The ability to operate in accordance with safe systems of work.
  • Collaborate and contribute to the implementation of new and best practice methods.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure and achieve targets set independently.
  • Relevant experience of balancing the needs of Customers, Shareholders and Employees.
  • Dynamism, aptitude for problem solving and teamwork, accuracy, reliability and results oriented.
  • Willingness to travel as and when required.
  • Trusted to deal with confidential information.
