Description
Convex is looking to find a capable and energetic Senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to join our innovative and fast developing organisation.
Working as part of the Finance Team, you will report directly to the Head of FP&A, with responsibility for supporting functions across the organisation as a finance business partner. In addition, you will support business planning as well as end-to-end design and production of financial reporting & MI. You will also assist with ongoing change projects, suggesting improvements to our ways of working, and finding more efficient ways to deliver FP&A services. You will embody the Convex values and share your skills and experience across Convex.
Note that this position is a 12 months' fixed term contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and preparation of month end reporting and other MI.
- Lead the end-to-end design and production of financial reporting & MI.
- Undertake financial analysis using a variety of software tools and modelling approaches.
- Work with the Anaplan tool to develop the business plan.
- Design, implement and document process automation.
- Design & implement solutions using Convex's available software platforms (such as Workiva, Airtable, PowerBI and others).
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- 5+ years prior experience in a finance, insurance accounting or actuarial role within the commercial (re)insurance sector.
- Experience in finance business planning and modelling.
- Sound analytical skills and experience in providing meaningful business insight.
- Critical thinking coupled with advanced analysis and problem-solving techniques - business / data analysis skills are essential.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, with business stakeholders.
- Interest in using new technology to automate and improve processes.
- Ability to simplify complex concepts, overcome obstacles, and drive balanced decision making for action.
- Ability to deploy good judgement in managing competing and conflicting priorities.
- Ability to provide valuable insight and new ideas that drive the continuous improvement in how we operate.
- Ability to inspire collaboration with your peers and participate in creating an environment that encourages learning and growth.
