Person specification

Education/Qualification

Essential criteria

  • AAT Qualified or equivalent

Desirable criteria

  • CCAB Qualified (or equivalent combination of CCAB part qualified and experience)
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Production of Statutory Final Accounts or extensive involvement in the process
  • Utilising financial ledger systems to undertake sales ledger, purchase ledger, and general ledger procedures.
  • Balance sheet reconciliation
  • Prepare charitable fund accounts in accordance with necessary statutory guidance
  • Cash flow management
  • VAT accounting and preparation of returns to HMRC
  • Payroll processing and third party payments
  • Streamlining processes and procedures to improve efficiency
  • Working with internal and external auditors
  • Working with non-financial managers on finance and technical matters
  • Using Systems
  • Advanced Excel skills

Desirable criteria

  • Financial modelling skills
  • Financial systems management
  • Project management and implementation of new financial systems or system upgrades
