The Role:
Working as part of the finance function here at BNP Paribas PF UK, you will take ownership of our system integrations into our General Ledger system and associated controls to ensure the validity of financial data across the business.
You will be working closely with teams across IT, alongside multiple different teams within the business, to understand our IT systems and the potential impact these may have on Finance, taking ownership of technical details and technical specifications of our Finance Systems and provide and interpretation to non-system specialists across Finance and the wider business.
You will produce large volume data extracts from CODA and SQL to support troubleshooting, system development, testing and commercial insight by Finance, alongside managing and escalating any flags to ensure potential risks and are managed and mitigated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the management, mapping, enhancement and controls for the Financial Systems Integration with Tallyman (SQL) and Merchant Payment System in CODA
- Understand the company's IT systems and the potential to impact Finance. Managing and escalating as appropriate to ensure risks are managed and mitigated.
- Manage Systems / IT development, including ownership of the Finance test plan, verification of test results and all associated documentation. Collaborate with all areas of Finance to ensure complete testing is undertaken and full consideration is given to the financial impacts.
- Responsible for all assigned balance sheet reconciliations (including sensitive accounts) ensuring that they are performed as per the local and BNPP Personal Finance policy requirements. Full responsibility is to be taken to ensure compliance with the Sensitive Account policy
- Support the implementation of best practice and continuous improvements in the department and wider business areas.
- Manage Systems / IT development, including ownership of the Finance test plan, verification of test results and all associated documentation. Collaborate with all areas of Finance to ensure complete testing is undertaken and full consideration is given to the financial impacts
- Highlight and challenge change implementation where necessary, supported by reasoned and logical arguments and assessing costs, risks and benefits.
Skills & Attributes:
- Experience in one of SAS, Python, or Tableau
- SQL / Server Management
- Knowledge of Accounting / Finance Procedures
- Data Analytics and Data Interrogation skills
- Ability to challenge current procedures and make recommendations
- Ability to communicate technical information to technical and non technical stakeholders
