About The Role

At Morrisons, we don't just run a supermarket - we're also the UK's second-largest fresh food manufacturer, with 18 sites producing a wide range of products for our stores and other major customers. Our Manufacturing business is key to our success, and now we're looking for a Senior Finance Manager to lead the financial operations across three of our important meat manufacturing sites: Colne, Spalding, and Turiff. You will be required to be based at one of these sites.

This is more than just a finance role - you'll be at the very heart of our multi billion pound business, making decisions that shape the future of our manufacturing operations and ensuring our business remains competitive in a fast-paced industry.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee the financial performance across 10 P&L accounts, ensuring accurate budgeting and forecasting to keep the sites on track. You'll be the go-to for financial insights that help guide strategic decisions
  • You'll work closely with Manufacturing Heads, the MD, and the FD, providing key financial analysis and advice. Your ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership will be crucial to your success
  • Lead the costing process for products and work closely with our Commercial teams to negotiate transfer prices, ensuring we maximise profitability while keeping costs in check
  • You'll be responsible for presenting site performance, making sure financial and non-financial stakeholders understand how we're performing and where improvements can be made.]
  • You'll lead, coach, and develop a team of finance professionals, ensuring they're equipped to deliver high-quality service to the manufacturing sites. You'll foster a positive and productive team environment
  • Play an active role in strategic decision-making across the sites, providing financial support to ensure that all projects are delivered on time and within budget, driving sustainable growth
  • Take charge of managing intercompany risk across manufacturing, ensuring it's within targets. You'll lead a workstream aimed at reducing intercompany imbalances, streamlining financial operations
  • You'll need to travel regularly between Colne and Spalding to ensure your teams are supported and that everything is running smoothly across both locations

About You

Here's the experience we're looking for

  • You'll hold a recognised qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (or equivalent), with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices
  • You have solid experience in commercial finance, particularly in partnering with senior stakeholders. You're comfortable working closely with leadership to provide insights and advice that drive performance
  • The manufacturing environment is fast-paced and ever-changing, so you'll need to be adaptable and resilient, capable of navigating challenges while keeping the long-term goals in sight
  • You're highly skilled in analysing data and presenting actionable insights. With your experience in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, you'll be able to handle complex financial models and deliver clear recommendations
  • You have experience in managing and developing teams, with the ability to inspire and motivate others. You're committed to helping your team grow and succeed, creating a supportive and high-performing environment
  • You excel at breaking down complex financial information for both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Your excellent communication and planning skills ensure everyone is aligned and working towards shared goals
  • You're proactive, results-focused, and thrive in a dynamic environment. You have a track record of delivering results and are motivated by the opportunity to make a tangible impact
