We are hiring a Senior Finance Business Partner to support the Sales Director and the wider British Isles sales team to drive business performance through accurate, reliable and insightful financial reporting and analysis to aid commercial decision-making.

What to expect from the role
This role reports into the Commercial Finance Manager and business partners with the Retail Director, Divisional Sales Managers, Key Account Managers and the Retail Operations team. You will assist them in driving retail business performance through accurate, reliable and insightful financial reporting and analysis to aid commercial decision-making. Core finance routines include month-end, forecasting and annual budgeting processes, flagging risks and opportunities and extracting accurate data to provide meaningful analysis.
Retail
- Business partner with the Sales Director and wider sales team to provide commercial finance insights and support
- Review weekly trade performance by KPIs (footfall, ASP, UPT, etc.) with the Sales Director and create a rolling 13-week Latest Estimate. Confidently present this view to Commercial Directors, highlighting key assumptions, risks and opportunities
- Provide insightful monthly store profitability reporting to aid in commercial decision-making for the owned and operated network and host quarterly P&L review meetings with the sales team
- Monitor and track all OPEX spend (excluding employee costs) such as packaging, logistics, travel, admin etc., proactively highlighting risks and opportunities
- Collaborate with Key Account Managers to achieve wholesale partner's sell-in revenue forecast and challenge key assumptions
- Manage and develop a Finance Business Partner, focusing on both technical and soft skills
Budget/forecasting
- Work closely with the sales, FP&A and global teams to produce revenue and OPEX forecasts within agreed timelines
- Review and challenge retail sales, orders and promotional KPI assumptions vs prior year/forecasts
- Variance analysis and commentary to ensure differences are explainable
- Take initiative to continuously improve and streamline the planning process
Month End Close
- Prepare month-end journals for the Shared Service Centre (SSC)
- Investigate and challenge material cost variances with SSC before ledgers close
- Conduct month-end reviews with the FP&A Manager and Finance Director (calling out key messages/drivers, variance analysis and implications to forecast/budget)
The successful candidate
An ideal candidate will have:
- A professional qualification (CIMA/ACCA)
- Previous experience in a commercial finance environment, preferably within retail (multi-site experience would be highly advantageous)
- Strong Excel skills (use of financial models, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, pivot tables etc.)
- P&L management experience is highly advantageous
- Solid analytical and data interpretation skills
- Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to confidently challenge when required and work well within all levels of the organisation
- Ability to work to strict timelines
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- A solution-focused approach
- The ability to thrive in a dynamic, changing, and fast-paced environment
