Senior Finance Assistant | 8650 | Permanent Contract x 1, Fixed Term Contract 6 Months x 1 | 37 hours per week | £30,559 to £32,654 per annum (Scale G) | County Hall, Norwich
An opportunity has arisen within the Budgeting and Accounting team of Norfolk County Council for a Senior Finance Assistant. There are two positions available, a permanent role and a 6-month temporary contract to cover a secondment. Both are a hybrid working arrangement where time is split between working from home and at County Hall.
You will be expected to work with both financial and non-financial staff. The work is wide ranging, including advising and supporting Responsible Budget Officers, supporting budget monitoring, budget preparation, contribution to closing of accounts, investigating queries and taking corrective action.
You should have relevant accounting experience in a large organisation, knowledge of accounting principles, and good financial and commercial awareness. You will have great interpersonal skills, be a team player with the ability to work methodically, meet deadlines under pressure, and the ability to learn quickly.
A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required, and experience of Excel is essential. Ideally, you will be AAT qualified or working towards an AAT qualification.
