We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Finance Assistant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, experience managing accounts payable in a fast-paced environment and experience implementing systems and automating processes.
This role will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in financial transactions. A key focus of this role will be to streamline and automate processes, improving the efficiency of invoice processing, bank reconciliations, and other AP-related workflows.

Requirements
Required Experience and Skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and deliver high-quality work to deadlines
- Strong understanding of AP best practices, reconciliations, and tax regulations related to accounts payable.
- Proven experience in a fast-paced Accounts Payable, with a track record of process improvements and automation.
- Experience with finance systems and automation tools (e.g., OCR invoice processing, automated bank reconciliations).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. NetSuite).
- Innovative and ambitious mindset, strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Caring and inclusive, respectful and receptive to others' diverse ideas, experience and perspectives, and enjoys working collaboratively with others as a team.
Role Responsibilities
Accounts payable
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, including managing the AP inbox, verifying approvals, coding, and resolving any discrepancies
- Maintain up-to-date supplier records and verify supplier details
- Handle supplier queries related to payments, invoices, and account reconciliations
- Prepare and process BACS payment batches for suppliers and staff expenses
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable
- Carry out bank reconciliations
- Review and process employee expenses for payment
Financial reporting
- Support with the preparation of accruals and prepayments
- Support with monthly and ad-hoc financial reporting tasks
Process improvement and automation
- Identify opportunities to streamline AP-related workflows (invoice processing, reconciliations, payment processes, etc)
- Implement new systems and ways of working to automate AP-related workflows, and drive organisational change management
- Establish best practices and drive continuous improvements in AP and other Financial operations processes
