Alongside this, we own the business profit model, capable of deep-diving into information whether that be by country, brand, buying division - the list is endless! Our role is to produce this monthly and support the business in using the data, to assist them in making value adding decisions. The ability to work well with stakeholders and act as a true business partner is a must within the team.
What you'll be doing:
- Manage the monthly production of profit model data, supporting FP&A and tech with the Commercial Finance inputs, challenging input files and looking for ways to improve the end-to-end process.
- Produce the various cuts of data from this monthly profit model for various stakeholders across the business, ensuring total accuracy and building in the appropriate checks to ensure complete confidence in the numbers.
- Provide monthly decks for the business to show interesting trends, areas of concern and any one-off initiatives in a user-friendly format, then being able to communicate this to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Subsequently manage any ad-hoc requests in relation to the profit model, using knowledge of the model alongside SQL to run various reports for the business.
- Own and produce the weekly and daily 'black book' report showing various KPIs required for our Commercial Finance Director.
- Work closely alongside Commercial Finance to understand their business needs and utilise any data which we already have available either from the profit model or our 'black book' report, always looking to streamline workloads and allow more time on the value adding.
- Understand the various reports available across the business, ensuring all definitions are aligned and where not, working to understand these differences and making the necessary changes.
- Be available to help the Finance Manager on ad-hoc requests, stepping in to assist the other SFA and FA on the team through busy periods (budget and reforecasting predominantly).
