Job Description
THE ROLE
This role reports into the manager for the Customer Journey team within Financial Accounting (FA) and has one direct reporting into the role. The role is split between owning our cash payments process, ensuring the appropriate tracking and posting of all non-automated payments across the business, liaising closely with our Accounts Payable, Treasury and Tax team. The role is also responsible for the Group's bank reconciliation process and it includes some IFRS 15 responsibilities including the recognition of our Partner Fulfils commission and our company-wide returns provision.

What you'll be doing:
Financial Accounting
- Recording and analysing manual payments, ensuring these are correctly posted into our financial systems and reconciled to bank
- Monitoring our payment accounts to ensure appropriate sign-off has been provided
- Clearing down reconciling items from our payments and receipts bank accounts and tracking KPIs, by supporting the finance analysts within the team and working with our various stakeholders
- Ensuring any related system issues are recorded and communicated, taking ownership of these to assist the finance analysts within the team
- Guide and mentor the finance analysts in the CJ team and wider FA team
- Understanding and posting our monthly returns provision, being able to challenge the applicable financial standards and working closely with our Commercial Finance team to understand the various drivers
- Posting and tracking our Partner Fulfils payment processes and any related commission, then completing the bank reconciliations.
- Expected to look for continuous improvement including the use of technology / automation to improve ways of working, controls and processes
- Work with the business and wider finance teams to understand the accounting implications of any business initiatives and associated change impacts from requirements through to successful testing and implementation.
Financial Control
- Producing month-end bank reconciliations, overall bank position and our revenue to cash reconciliation
- Contributing to our financial control pack both for cash, feed checks and returns provision
- Ensuring accounting memos and policies remain up to date and capture any cash impacting projects
- Ensure appropriate and robust financial control environment, spanning from the posting of journals to assisting with the external audit process at half year and year-end.

Qualifications
We'd love to meet, someone with...
- An accounting qualification (preferably ACA or equivalent)
- Solid understanding of IFRS
- A proven ability to plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines
- Advanced skills in Excel
- Strong attention to detail
- Proactiveness in the organisation of own work and to take initiative
- Good communication/ interpersonal and influencing skills
