Uckfield College

Uckfield Town Schools' Alliance (UTSA) and Village Schools' Alliance (VSA)

Initially on a two year fixed term contract from 1.9.23 to 31.8.25

This is a new opportunity for a team of three staff (one Senior Family and SEND Support Worker and two Family SEND Support Workers) to work across several schools in the Uckfield area, to support SEND children to be in school and ready to achieve their full potential. The FSSW team will work with schools to identify families with SEND children who have low confidence in the mainstream school's ability to meet the needs of their child(ren). These children may have low attendance rates and high levels of anxiety about attending school. The FSSW team will then build relationships with the families and offer support and guidance in and out of schools that will improve the child's attendance, motivation, self-esteem and educational attainment.

We are looking for a team to:

- Engage and undertake direct work with children and young people.

- Work in partnership with parents, carers, educational staff and other agencies.

- Assess need, arrange and implement appropriate support and monitor progress.

- Communicate effectively across a wide range of audiences
