CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Senior Facilities Manager to be based on our site in Fawley, Southampton.
About the Role
The Senior Facility Manager will lead CBRE's Facilities Management operations at the Fawley Refinery, which is set to become ExxonMobil's UK Headquarters by Q3 2026. This flagship site represents a significant expansion in scope and complexity, requiring a senior leader with strategic vision and operational excellence. The role will manage all aspects of building operations, maintenance, and client engagement while driving innovation and delivering enhanced FM solutions to meet rapidly evolving client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
This is a pivotal role in shaping the future of FM at ExxonMobil's flagship UK site. Our client is on a mission to transform the site, and the site's rate & pace drive is on a vertical incline. The successful candidate will not only manage day-to-day operations but also deliver strategic initiatives that redefine FM service delivery, ensuring CBRE remains a trusted partner in ExxonMobil's journey toward operational excellence.
Strategic Leadership & Client Engagement
• Act as the primary FM leader for ExxonMobil's UK Headquarters, ensuring alignment with the client's strategic objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, including the expanded site leadership team and the ExxonMobil Property Solutions Regional Manager.
• Serve as a trusted advisor, proactively identifying innovative FM & PJM solutions to address business challenges and improve operational efficiency.
• Serve as a trusted advisor for our client.
Operational Excellence & Scope Expansion
• Oversee delivery of an expanded FM scope, projected to exceed $2M annually by the end of 2026, with further growth anticipated.
• Manage high-profile capital projects totalling $30M+, ensuring timely delivery, budget compliance, and quality standards.
• Implement best-in-class processes for maintenance, repairs, and upgrades, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Represent CBRE in high-level discussions on FM strategy and project delivery
• Oversee expanded FM scope and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Team Leadership & Development
• Provide formal supervision and leadership to FM staff, including recruitment, training, performance management, and succession planning.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation within the team.
• Lead, mentor, and develop FM team members to deliver exceptional service.
Financial & Risk Management
• Prepare and manage operating budgets, variance reports, and capital expenditure plans.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, including environmental health and safety procedures.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
• Drive operational efficiencies through technology adoption, process optimization, and sustainability initiatives.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement to meet evolving client expectations.
• Position Fawley as a benchmark for FM excellence within ExxonMobil's global portfolio.
What We're Looking For
• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5-8 years of relevant experience; FM certification desirable.
• Proven experience managing large-scale facilities and high-value projects.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead diverse teams.
• Advanced financial acumen and project management expertise.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and FM systems.
• Proven experience in Facilities Management leadership roles
• Strong ability to manage large-scale operations and capital projects.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strategic mindset with ability to deliver innovative solutions.
