Job description
At Safran Seats, we are unique within aerospace, as we interface with both the world's biggest airlines and airframers alike, with the largest seats portfolio of all seats suppliers. One day you could be liaising with one of the world's largest airframers, and the next, some of the biggest airline brands around the world!
In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.
The purpose of this role is to be responsible for establishing and managing an external supply plan that satisfies the Material Requirements Plan (MRP), direct customer orders and stock policy targets. To test the feasibility of the plan, by performing detailed capacity planning and resolving imbalances.
Key Responsibilities will include:
• This role is a team member of the External Supply Chain, part of the wider Supply Chain team
• This role is responsible for mentoring new External Material Schedulers in the new starter process and/or career development as applicable
• Accountable for the immediate, short and medium term supply plan in order to meet demands of our overall operational targets and deliveries, managing and reducing risk where applicable
• Responsible for the communication / expediting / planning
• Define the supply parameters in the Companies Enterprise Resources Planning
(ERP) tool resulting from the Materials Requirements Plan (MRP)
• Accountable for the supplier on-time performance for your defined commodity / group of suppliers
• Confirm and communicate requirements and changes resulting from the MRP to the supplier by confirming any necessary modifications that are to be made
• Issue the schedule agreements or purchase orders in line with ERP
recommendations (1st & 2nd tier)
• Obtain acknowledgement from the supplier for any changes or modifications to
requirements

Candidate skills & requirements
Candidate skills:
An in depth understanding of the workings of an ERP system and demonstrable previous experience of working of an ERP System particularly material scheduling
Production or material scheduling and inventory management experience in fast paced, high volume industry
Risk management experience including the reduction and assessment of risks
Competent Microsoft user inc Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Experience of using a Supplier two way system such as Lean DNA or other Business Intelligence tools
APICS Basics / Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
Previous experience mentoring / on job training with individuals
