Senior Estimator

Role Context:

Worley is looking for a Senior Estimator to support project estimates across the region.

Located near to one of Worley's UK Offices in London, Manchester, Stockton or Aberdeen is preferred.

Overall responsibility for estimate production as assigned including:

You'll be:

  • Coordinate and monitor input from engineering, procurement and construction to ensure estimate input requirements are met in a timely manner
  • Establish the key parameters associated with the overall quality and accuracy of the estimate such as: equipment and material pricing guidelines, material take-off and other allowances, escalation philosophy, and site location (labour productivity) factors.
  • Establish the estimating scope of work, prepare estimate methodology and produce an overall estimate activity schedule identifying all deliverables and interfaces with other disciplines
  • Prepare the Estimate Plan to include establishment of the estimating methodology and cost estimating principles applicable to the estimate preparation.
  • Provide support in identifying, analyzing, and providing innovative solutions to cost estimating problems.
  • Compare and analyze scope, quantities and cost data between projects. In comparison with previous estimates, outcome costs and vendor prices, carry out benchmark estimates through high level norms and industry standards
  • Identify risk items and measures to mitigate risks
  • Prepare cost trend estimates in support of project cost trend programs.
  • Prepare Basis of Estimate and compile all estimate documentation required for internal governance and client presentation / submission
  • Deliver estimate review and customer presentations alongside Project Manager
  • Analyse subcontractor pricing for accuracy and content.
  • Establish wage rates and productivity factors.
  • Support with check estimates, trend and change order estimates, and forecasting as required.

You'll have:

  • Significant experience in an Estimating Role. Commercial awareness and proven success with benchmarking and data analytic skills.
  • Industry Specific Experience: Experience working on projects within the Energy, Chemicals and Resources industries
  • Education: - Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline (Engineering preferred)
  • HSE Capability: Ability to comply with, promote and provide leadership in HSE policy and OneWay™ framework
  • IT Skills: Advanced user of Microsoft Office Applications, Working knowledge of Estimating Software such as Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (KBase) or Cleopatra Enterprise.
  • People Skills: Motivational and collaborative communication skills.
  • Budgeting: Control estimating budget on projects
  • Strong organizational planning skills
