We are looking for a Senior IR manager who will be responsible for working across the Royal Mail Group with Senior HR, Functional leads and our Trade Unions to facilitate a stable IR environment with activity related to BAU activity, delivery of new initiatives and compliance to our IR agreements.

This is a hybrid working role with travel to our Farringdon/London office two times per week.

About the role

You will influence and coach negotiating mandates across the business for change projects involving complex employee and industrial relation issues and support change activity through agreed IR remits.

Provide pro-active support in managing and avoiding disputes including supporting the business approach to both internal and external mediation to increase the pace and deployment of change activity.

Provide technical advice and coaching to support the delivery of all agreements and proactively support the delivery of a consistent approach to enable a culture of industrial stability.

Provide pro-active expert advice together for BAU activity with a strategic overview of business impact of decisions made and advice given.

Develop with others, policies and guidance to support an IR agenda and provide expert business responses through coaching to HR Business Partners and functional leads on specific IR related issues.

About You
• Experience of managing union and external stakeholder relationships, particularly in supporting the delivery of large-scale change
• Knowledge and understanding of Royal Mail and the wider business
• Ability to understand and interpret IR tactics into a negotiating strategy and approach
• Knowledge of current collective agreements
• Coaching & positive challenging style
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Resilience, tenacity and self-starter
• Results and output orientated
• Proven track record of influencing others and finding creative solutions
• CIPD qualified or equivalent qualifications
• Understanding of Legislation relating to Union matters
