Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • A degree in the subject or equivalent knowledge or skills
  • Masters Qualification or Postgraduate qualification in the subject or relevant experience to masters equivalence
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable criteria

  • Project management qualification

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience in implementing equality improvement initiatives in a complex organisation
  • Experience of developing policies and procedures for managers or staff to improve equality outcomes
  • Experience of working with people from diverse backgrounds and different professions
  • Experience of supporting managers or Teams with developing Equality Impact Assessments
  • Experience in managing multiple projects
  • Experience of strategic partnership working
  • Experience of challenging organisational processes and structures appropriately to managers and teams
  • Experience of community engagement and development with people from varied protected characteristics
  • Experience of developing robust action plans and reports based on analysis of workforce data
  • Experience of working with staff networks
  • Proven experience of collaborative working and relationship management with a range of stakeholders
  • Experience of line management, including sickness absence management, managing performance and appraisals
  • Experience of presenting reports and presentations to varied audiences
  • Experience of designing and delivering learning and development interventions

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working in the public sector
  • Experience of working with equality performance frameworks (e.g., NHS Equality Delivery System, Workforce Race Equality Standard, Workforce Disability Standard, Gender Pay Gap) and any other equality standards

Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • A detailed understanding of best practice in relation to equality, diversity and service delivery
  • Detailed understanding of the Equality Act 2010, Human Rights Act 1988 and related legislation
  • An in -depth understanding of the impact of discrimination and inequality on workforce and communities
