What you'll be doing

  • Completion, reviewing, updating of company environmental documentation,
    sustainability delivery and a variety environmental risks and opportunities
  • Producing/maintaining permitting and licencing requirements for specific
    projects
  • Support with Awards submission entries
  • Fully interpret policy, regulation, and legislation across the portfolio
  • Providing visible ES support across the portfolio.
  • Supports one or more high-level/value/complex projects through feasibility
    to post construction with the backing of your E&S Team colleagues
  • Supports one or more standalone projects through feasibility to post
    construction.
  • Ensure and report on environmental compliance.
  • Regular site inspections, including those with client or regulatory
    representatives
  • Identify and promote innovative solutions.
  • Advise and guide all levels within the project portfolio.
  • Ensure ES information e.g. KPIs are cascaded to supply chain.
  • Support work winning advising on ES issues e.g. planning, permitting, and
    licensing requirements.
  • Attend work winning interviews with clients.
  • Identify Best Practice/Case Studies
  • Delivering ESSA/ESA training or other awareness activities
  • Ensure timely client and internal reporting
  • Manage and reporting all environmental incidents
  • Managing maintaining EROA/IRIS
  • Drive sustainability action plans and inform key project decisions through
    findings from data, assessments, audits, and incidents
  • Line management of ES advisors / coordinators / graduates or apprentices

Who we're looking for

  • Full driving license and flexibility to travel
  • Professional Membership level of a relevant professional body
    (IEMA/CIEEM/CIWEM) or ability to demonstrate equivalent experience and
    competence.
  • Good knowledge of environment management with the relevant experience
    working in a construction environment.
  • Practical experience and sound knowledge of environmental statutory
    requirements, including environmental legislation, ecology mitigation,
    environmental licencing and consent applications and regulation.
  • Oversee, develop and direct Graduate ES roles across your portfolio.
  • Understanding of the benefits of working collaboratively to obtain the best
    outcome.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
  • Determination to see tasks through to completion, with excellent planning
    and organisation skills.
  • Interpreting and managing data via databases, consistent record keeping
    and writing detailed reports.
  • Be required to visit worksites and offices across Scotland and attend
    occasional ES meetings across the UK.
  • Literate in MS Office - Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to deputise for more senior role (e.g. ES Manager)
