We are looking for a Senior Entertainment Sports Underwriter, based in London.

At the heart of our operations is an exceptional team of entertainment underwriters, claims adjusters, security experts and auditors, all dedicated to the intricate world of specialty insurance.

The Impact You Will Have As an Underwriter, your role will be pivotal in driving the profitability of new and renewal business within the Entertainment Sports sector, contributing to the achievement of regional targets with global implications. You will take ownership of large accounts and clients, leading negotiations on participation, pricing, and terms and conditions. Your expertise will be instrumental in training and developing the team, while also serving as a referral point for underwriters. Additionally, your specialized technical knowledge will position you as a lead for at least one sub-line of business, and your ability to cultivate strong relationships with brokers and clients will be essential to our continued success.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• Underwrite large new and renewal accounts to achieve top and bottom line targets, incorporating regional and global considerations.
• Negotiate participation, pricing, and terms and conditions with brokers, actively managing capacity and ensuring contract certainty at inception.
• Adhere to Entertainment Sports governance framework
• Contribute to the development and execution of regional Underwriting strategy for Entertainment Sports, including training and coaching less experienced staff and managing complex referrals.
• Proactively support acquisition and retention of large clients, engaging in client and broker negotiations as needed
• Represent Allianz Commercial externally, driving involvement of functional areas in the Underwriting process and fostering strong relationships with key brokers, clients, and other stakeholders.

What You'll Bring to the Role

• Experience in underwriting profitable business, preferably Entertainment Sports. Candidates with broader Specialty Entertainment experience seeking a new opportunity are also encouraged to apply.
• Recognized relationships with brokers at a peer group level and established presence within the market
• Proficiency in analyzing current performance against various benchmarks and specialized understanding of regional/local insurance markets and the competitor landscape.
• Advanced capability in designing, developing, and implementing consistent, robust contract wordings, with a good understanding of the legal and regulatory framework,
• Advanced analytical skills, enabling effective absorption of information from various sources and drawing appropriate conclusions.
• Proficiency in communication and presentation, with the ability to express ideas clearly, both in written and verbal forms.
• Fluent English Language skills
