Job Title: Senior Enterprise Architect

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: Circa £80,000 dependent on skills and experience plus executive car allowance and bonus on top

What you’ll be doing:

  • Be responsible for Leading the Design Authority deployment across the submarines business for all IT and OT Systems. With this, you will be providing Process Guidance across the product group Lead Architects and their teams to assure the Chief Architect that solutions are effective, safe and compliant in a manner compliant with the BAE System IT CONOPS

  • Be an expert in enterprise architecture method and deployment, to tune the architecture practices across the Product groups, business and sector

  • Manage the alignment of our respective solution directions, negotiating and adjudicating design trade-offs to optimise the balance of requirement fit, strategy alignment, supportability, total cost of ownership and delivery schedule

  • Be responsible for the Submarines “Enterprise Architecture”

  • Lead the creation and review of an enterprise architecture governance strategy to support the requirements of the business

  • Hold authority and accountability for actions and decisions regarding cross “Product Group” capability deployment, including technical, financial and quality aspects

  • Influence policy and strategy formation. Initiate influential relationships with internal and external customers, suppliers and partners at senior management level

Your skills and experiences:

  • Demonstrable experience within an IT Function and be recognised as an “Expert” Enterprise/Business Architect

  • Proven experience supporting Architectural Assurance and governance of complex projects

  • Demonstrable leadership experience in organisational management

  • Ability to manage and mitigate organisational risk

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to guide and influence

  • Relevant IT degree or business degree, experience in consultancy or people management position preferred

The Architecture Office team:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Architecture Office Team where you will lead and monitor the architectural assurance activities across Product Groups in a consistent and robust manner. Whilst maintaining assurance, you will also maintain the governance strategy in architecture and provide process guidance to Product Group Lead Architects. This is a varied role which will provide the opportunity to work across all submarine programmes and provide the ability to influence ways of working, thereby making a significant impact to the business. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
