About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for Senior Engineer - Track to join our Rail team as part of the Sizewell C project.
The role will be initially based in London, with the construction phase moving to site in East Suffolk.
The primary purpose of the role will be to assist with the provision of technical support for the planning and delivery of the permanent way design on the Sizewell C Rail Scheme ensuring all technical aspects of the works comply with relevant Network Rail Group standards, Rail Safety and Standards Board standards, British Standards and safety legislation.
What you'll be doing
The successful candidate will:
- Analyse Track Drawings to develop construction methodologies and highlight any issues via the Senior Project Engineer;
- Produce construction programmes, train plans and staging diagrams;
- Produce RAMS documentation including Works Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets;
- Identify the survey equipment requirements for planned works, raise orders and manage the equipment to avoid any losses / damage;
- Undertake surveys and setting out on site;
- Complete quality checklists and required TEF Forms as part of the NR assurance process;
- Produce Stressing Plans;
- Attend 'de-confliction' meetings to manage to integration of works with other parties.
- Undertake safety inspections and lead the technical supervision on site;
- Monitor and ensure technical compliance is being met for all site and office works;
- Attend all relevant meetings via teams and in person.
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Comprehensive knowledge of Track standards, process, and procedure;
- Experience in a Track Renewals / Enhancements environment or similar;
- Proficient knowledge of site technical activities and quality control, this should include but not limited to surveying, setting out, dozing, and tamping;
- Experience in completing material take offs and volume calculations using the design drawings for the required import of aggregates (Type 1/ Ballast etc) and export of spoil from site;
- Proficient knowledge of project planning and up-to-date knowledge of latest plant, equipment, and technology;
- Appreciation of the Health and Safety at Works Act 1974 and CDM Regulations 2015;
- Computer literate;
- Effective communicator;
- Works well under pressure, c ollaborative and a p roblem solver;
- Ability to produce documentation to a professional standard;
- UK Driving Licence;
- Trimble SPS930 and GPS Survey Equipment
Desirable:
- Minimum 5 years' experience;
- PTS (Personal Track Safety);
- Stressing Certificate;
- Experience with Microsoft Project;
- Educated to Degree / HND / HNC Standard in Civil Engineering (or similar subject);
- Member of professional institution including PWI (Permanent Way Institution) or ICE (Institute of Civil Engineers);
- Familiar with BIM Field 360.
