Grade: G9; Salary Range: £42,839 - £46,142

Our Engineering teams are instrumental in the successful delivery of highways and transport services in Walsall. We are looking to recruit an experienced, self-motivated highways engineer who can take a leading technical role and contribute positively to the future success of the team.

We are looking for someone with highways experiences. A strong customer focus is essential, and the successful candidate will need to be able to work quickly and efficiently to solve problems and communicate solutions to internal and external parties.

This role is within our Major Projects, Minor Improvements, Structures and Geotechnics team and as a Senior Engineer you will have responsibility for:

  • Undertaking site investigation and preliminary design of highway schemes.
  • Undertaking detailed geometric design of highway schemes.
  • Undertaking the preparation of contract documentation for highway schemes.
  • Undertaking input into civil engineering project management.
  • Supervising highway scheme construction and the delivery of highway schemes.
  • Providing technical advice and support to other Groups and Service Areas

This is a varied role with customer services and partnership working at its heart.

The minimum entry requirement will be HNC or above in Civil Engineering or other relevant subject and equivalent experience. It will also be preferred if the applicant has a full driving licence and CSCS card.
