Senior Engineer - DevOps Automation

We are currently looking for a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our dynamic team responsible for our DevOps and Cloud automation ecosystem. As a member of the team, your role will be pivotal in the design , maintenance , and support our DevOps Automation ecosystem platform, which plays a crucial role in the development, deployment, and operations of our AXA XL applications. This role will be focused on hands on delivery and supporting the overall productivity of the team.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Implement and document change in accordance with an approved SDLC process and development standards
  • Write high quality, well-designed, testable code
  • Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility
  • Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
  • Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
  • Document and maintain software functionality
  • Provide technical SME assistance for a given application
  • Technically leads other developers, including assignment of work
  • Assists to maintain development standards for design, coding, etc.
  • Perform deliverable reviews and manage measurement of deliverable quality
  • May perform design activities in collaboration with the Technical Architect
  • Assists in removing impediments to progress
  • Support resolution of defects during application testing phases
  • Estimate work requests at various levels of confidence
  • May serve as a member of a Major Incident Team

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

  • Proven development skills in one or more programming languages with specific skills within the Java domain.
  • Knowledge of current Java frameworks, SDKs, APIs and libraries.
  • Knowledge of Azure or other cloud services and ability to implement solutions utilizing them.
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache) and UI/UX design.
  • Building and scaling infrastructure services using Microsoft Azure
  • Experience of using core cloud application infrastructure services including identity platforms, networking, storage, databases, containers, and serverless
  • Skillful in troubleshooting large-scale distributed ecosystems systems
  • Knowledge of SOLID software design principles and clean code principles.
  • Application changes complete on-time, to a target level of quality
  • Timely and accurate completion of Software Development Lifecycle deliverables in a manner that is auditable, testable, and maintainable
  • Implementation consistent with solution design and business specifications
  • Ensure for technical integrity of changes made to systems
  • Adherence to development governance & SDLC standards
  • Team leadership abilities required, including experience leading and mentoring development professionals
  • Must be able to set priorities and multi-task
  • Adaptable to new/different strategies, programs, technologies, practices, cultures, etc. Comfortable with change, able to easily make transitions.
  • Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science, information systems, business management, or a related field preferred
