Salary : Base salary: £47,450- £59,300 depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer flexible benefits fund of 20% which is paid on top base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits - check them out in the Benefits section on our website.

As a Senior Engagement and Interface Manager at HS2 you will be responsible for managing, coordinating and providing oversight to the EKFB Integrated Project Team, setting the strategy for local engagement and ensuring plans are driven by HS2's Community Engagement Strategy.

About the role:

Working within the Integrated Project Team (IPT) across the EKFB contract area covering the construction of HS2 between Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire and Southam in Warwickshire you will :

  • Be responsible for ensuring plans for local engagement are in line with the Community Engagement Strategy and consistent with the approach set out by HS2
  • Provide advice and guidance to the Project Director and delivery teams on all elements of community & stakeholder engagement across the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire area
  • Oversee a regular programme of community engagement with a range of events and engagement forums
  • Identify opportunities for innovation within engagement to improve and enhance the way we inform and involve people in the delivery of the railway
  • Promote the benefits of HS2 - jobs, skills and education opportunities, funding available and community investment
  • Work and build relationships with partners across the EKFB contract area - local authority, the Euston partnership, Network Rail, local organisations and community groups
  • Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of the complex political environment within which HS2 operates, including relevant governance and accountability issues.

Type of experience:

  • Experience of implementing innovative solutions in community engagement in a diverse and challenging environment.
  • Experience of working in high-profile community or stakeholder management.
  • Experience of successful delivery in a maturing environment against challenging timescales and developing requirements.
  • Experience of providing counsel at a senior leadership level across an organisation on community engagement.
  • Experience of working with external stakeholders and Delivery Teams, overseeing and managing the delivery of engagement activities.
  • Experience of working in a political environment.
  • Experience of dealing with fast paced local or national media.
