Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Design Engineer with deep expertise in micro-electronics, compact PCB design, and fuzing systems. In this role, you will be responsible for developing cutting-edge, highly reliable solutions for complex and regulated environments, including defence applications.

You will play a key role in designing, validating, and delivering miniature electronic systems that push the boundaries of performance, safety, and durability. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you'll take projects from concept to production, ensuring designs meet the highest standards while managing risks and meeting cost and schedule targets.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Lead the design and development of micro-electronics and compact PCB systems.
• Deliver innovative design solutions that balance performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Design and integrate electronics for fuzing and safety-critical munition systems.
• Carry out detailed circuit design, simulation, and signal integrity analysis.
• Integrate microcontrollers, sensors, and power management into compact designs.
• Support system-level integration and troubleshooting during build and test phases.
• Validate designs through comprehensive testing and analysis, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
• Manage technical risks and apply structured design review processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design challenges and ensure successful prototype and production build.
• Ensure all design work is well-documented, traceable, and compliant with internal and external requirements.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required:

• 10+ years' experience in electronics design.
• Proven expertise in micro-electronics, miniature and compact PCB design.
• Direct experience working with fuzing systems and safety-critical munition electronics.
• Comfortable working in highly regulated environments, including with munitions.
• Eligible for UK Eyes Only Security Clearance (UKEO SC clearable).
• Strong technical problem-solving skills and ability to manage design risks.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
