We are now recruiting for an Senior Electronics Engineer to join our busy team in Leeds. The main purpose of the role will be to Design and develop electronic hardware for both internal and external use, along with the design and development of firmware for testing and end products.

Role and Responsibilities include;

  • Assemble hardware for Instrumentel systems
  • Perform tests on Instrumentel systems to validate quality and performance levels
  • Manage inventory accuracy and storeroom discipline
  • Install, service and maintain company products on varying sites
  • Support team projects as and when required
  • Creating / design of documentation for electronic/hardware design.
  • Preparation of technical lead documents for tech reviews for projects for which is tech lead.
  • Participation in weekly/daily team technical meetings.
  • Supporting the project manager by providing accurate time estimates on projects and product costings.
  • Supporting customers with technical requests as guided by the project, engineering or operations manager.
  • Working in a safe manner, taking reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other people at work, following appropriate Health and Safety guidance, training and company rules and procedures as appropriate.
  • Reporting any accidents, hazards or dangerous / unsafe behaviour to your line manager immediately.

The successful candidate must hold GCSE's A-C (or equivalent) in Maths and English and be qualified to HND level (or equivalent) in electrical/electronic engineering. A degree in a relevant Engineering field would also be an advantage. Candidates be familiar with PCB schematics and board layout, and have previous experience in mixed circuit design and prototype design, building and testing.

Due to the technical nature of the role, the post holder will need to have experience in Electrical / Electronic Engineering. Knowledge of installation and maintenance in the Railway industry would be beneficial. Previous experience of building and testing of components is required in the role. These technical skills are critical to the success of the role and the department.
