My client designs and manufactures environmental monitoring technology to make the world safer, cleaner and smarter

They are looking for a senior electronics engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mixed signal circuits, including but not limited to pre-amplifiers, filters, power supplies, interfacing, and analogue-digital conversion.
  • Ensure all designs meet safety standards, product standards, and legal requirements.
  • Lead and contribute to all phases of the product development cycle, from requirement analysis to design & development, prototyping, and production.
  • Implement microcontroller-based circuit designs and embedded software, with a preference for candidates with FPGA and HDL knowledge.
  • Conduct research and investigation into innovative technologies and methods applicable to our products and services.
  • Generate and approve critical design documentation and test specifications.
  • Proactively identify and rectify design failures or performance issues.
  • Oversee the safe construction and operation of test rigs, instrumentation, prototypes, and laboratory practices.
  • Support the bidding and proposal process through expert input and planning.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • You must hold a BSc or a higher degree in a relevant electronics-engineering course at a UK University.
  • Proven experience in analogue and digital circuit design within a product development setting.
  • Proficient in mixed signal design for precision instrumentation.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience with microcontroller-based designs and embedded software.
  • Familiarity with FPGA-based circuit design and HDL programming is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently or lead a team through the product development lifecycle.
  • Capable of innovating, researching, and applying new techniques and technologies to enhance product offerings.
  • Strong documentation skills for creating and reviewing design documents and test specifications.
  • Commitment to safety and quality in both design and laboratory practices.
  • Although not mandatory, practical skills are beneficial; IPC training is available.
  • Willingness to contribute to proposal preparation and planning activities.
  • You must be a UK citizen and hold a current UK Passport.
