Job Description

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Electronic design engineer, you will be joining our Defence team to support our activities in vehicle architecture in the Southwest area.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Lead the design and development of electronic systems for vehicle applications, including but not limited to powertrain control modules, vehicle communication networks, sensor interfaces, and embedded systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, software engineers, and product managers to define system requirements, architecture, and specifications.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate the technical and commercial viability of proposed solutions.
  • Perform schematic capture, PCB layout, and circuit simulation using industry-standard tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, and SPICE.
  • Conduct thorough design reviews and provide guidance to junior engineers to ensure adherence to best practices and design standards.
  • Develop and maintain documentation including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities, including bench testing, environmental testing, and vehicle integration testing.
  • Stay current with advancements in automotive electronics, emerging technologies, and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronic design and development, with a focus on automotive applications.
  • Proven track record of designing and delivering complex electronic systems from concept to production.
  • Expertise in vehicle architecture, including CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and other automotive communication protocols.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture, PCB layout, and circuit simulation tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex hardware and software issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with automotive industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 26262, Automotive SPICE) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with functional safety concepts and methodologies is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience mentoring junior engineers.
