We're looking for talent to join our London, UK office as we continue to grow. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor looking to gain more experience within the high-tech sector. Responsibilities
As a Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor, you will support the team, assisting with responsibilities for end to end service delivery, often with respect to large or complex commissions.
- Provide Mechanical cost expertise on a variety of projects.
- Prepare accurate quantity surveys and estimates for the Mechanical division of the project as assigned.
- Have intermediate to advanced understanding of mechanical systems in order to recognize relative costs.
- Conducting feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.
- Applying value management techniques at the outset of a project.
- Managing estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
- Provide mechanical expertise to project management team in the construction planning meeting. Familiarize the project team with assumptions and methods contemplated by the estimate. Assist with the initial project subcontracting plan.
- Managing the procurement process, ensuring that all stages - including pre-qualification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation - are performed effectively.
- Ensuring that cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively.
- Ensuring the production of monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client.
- Value engineering and life-cycle costing.
- Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed upon.
- Interfacing with clients and other consultants at all project stages.
Qualifications
- Must hold a minimum class 2.1 Honours Degree in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management.
- 5+ years' of quantity surveying or cost management experience.
- Ability to interact extremely well with many different client types.
- Experience with conceptual, schematic, DD, and CD phases of estimating.
- Experience in electrical estimating desired.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, cost coding systems, etc. is required.
