We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team based in Exeter. Joining us on a full-time permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary starting at £41,840 per annum with your salary increasing up to £52,300 as your progress through our development scheme.

About the role

As our Senior Electrical Engineering Technician you will support and advise both management and staff on a variety of aspects of electrical maintenance including statutory inspections, set to work, optimisation and repair of operational plant and process.

You will provide clear advice to key stakeholders and Internal Management on the development and performance measurement of Electrical Safety and Environmental Engineering capability in South West Water.

You will also lead and develop a capable and effective electrical engineering ethos paying particular attention to process safety and product safety delivered by area maintenance managers and the respective field teams.

What you'll be doing:

    • Ensuring compliance with Product Safety and Environmental Policies and legislative requirements
    • Ensuring SWW safety maintenance engineering business is appropriately controlled and governed
    • Developing professional development plans for training successors in specialist areas
    • Pro-actively supporting the Regional Safety and Compliance Manager with transformation and application of governance within SWW
    • Project Management liaison with the strategic client
    • Reviewing and documenting all processes applicable to this specialist area

What we are looking for:

    • A full UK driving license
    • A flexible approach to working hours and travel
    • High level of skill in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and customer-facing skills
    • An ability to manage a high volume of work, work at a fast pace, manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
    • An ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
