Location: Sizewell C site- based, Leiston, Suffolk ( 5 days a week onsite).
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Salary: £70,000 £80,000 - dependant on experience.

Sizewell C (SZC) is at the heart of the UK's clean energy revolution. This ground-breaking nuclear power plant project in Suffolk will play a vital role in delivering a sustainable future. The Role
You'll work with the Assurance & Utilities Manager, other team members and managers, You are an excellent communicator and a strong team player and able to work within a pressurised environment to focus on the successful delivery of Construction and Maintenance works to time and quality. Assist the delivery of Construction and Maintenance requirements relating to the SZC owned assets and associated infrastructure under the direction of the Assurance & Utilities Manager. Deputise for the Assurance & Utilities Manager when required including attendance at meetings as required. You'll work with and support the Duty Managers and other members of the Site Operations team in the delivery of Business objectives and future budget identification and delivery.
You'll work with others to undertake and complete the Construction and Maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner whilst minimising disruption to the SZC electricity, water and IT&T supplies.
Ensure delivery of Construction projects, and Maintenance plans as directed by the Assurance & Utilities Manager. Oversee the installation of substation and cabling Construction and Maintenance works as required on designated SZC private networks infrastructure.Albe to work with team members to ensure high standards of safety management are maintained throughout all activities during the delivery of the engineering tasks in accordance with the SZC values. Coordinate day to day Construction and Maintenance activities in relation to SZC assets ensuring programs are met. Obtain quotations from suppliers in coordination with finance & governance teams. Provide technical support to design-based activities. When deputising for the Assurance & Utilities Manager you'll deliver team briefings & give feedback where necessary. Participate in a standby rota and work additional hours as required to maintain the supplies to the SZC infrastructure. You'll work unsocial hours when required to respond to faults on system.When undertaking engineering activities you'll manage the team of employees and contractors for the successful delivery of the activity as well as undertaking engineering activities manage the compliance with all Health & Safety procedures such as putting people to work and E&M Safety Rules and more.
Key Responsibilities:
• Delivery of the Construction and Maintenance programs for the SZC owned assets operating at voltages through the range 400V to 11kV.
• Assist in the management of budgets relating to the Construction and Maintenance delivery and meet ongoing company objectives.
• Adherence to SZC Operations and Procedures.
• Operation of HV and LV distribution protection systems.
• Testing and Commissioning of HV and LV distribution systems.
• Maintenance of the control and protection systems and ensuring compliance with CDM and SZC Health and Safety policies.
• Developing site specific Health, Safety and Environment procedures relating to utilities.
• Assist in the operation and update of SZC asset database.
• Responsible for both reactive and planned Maintenance activities.
• Carry out fault investigation and repairs as required and modifying equipment and drawings to ensure the efficient operation of the SZC substations.
• Ensuring the compliance with the E&M Safety Rules during all activities and compliance with SZC quality policies.
• Undertake additional activities commensurate with the job level and competency.
What You'll Bring
Essential Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
• Minimum 11kV Senior Authorised Person as defined by the E&M Safety Rules.
• Experience in distribution systems through the range 400V to 11kV.
• Security clearance for SZC infrastructure Access.
• Medical & Drugs and Alcohol screening.
• Educated to HNC level qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of distribution HV Systems.
• Knowledge of Building Services Systems.
• Working knowledge of specialist HV equipment.
• Ability to read drawings and understand content.
• Ability to work in different environments.
• Excellent analytical, organisation, communication & planning skills.
• Ability to identify problems, understand key issues and investigate alternatives.
• Hold full driving license.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office suite, Outlook, MS Project and other bespoke software packages.
Desirable Skills:
• An understanding and working knowledge of SZC process.
• A broad understanding of the SZC requirements.
• To possess strong and persuasive negotiating and influencing skills.
• Ability to manage time and to meet deadlines.
• To be skillful in decision making.
• Demonstrate honesty and integrity.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Relevant Safety Qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
• National Grid BESC approved.
• Knowledge of HV Scada systems.
• CSCS or CCNSG Qualification.
• Knowledge of Construction Design and Management Regulations.
