Job Description

The Senior Electrical Engineer forms part of the engineering team based in London. The role assumes general responsibilities that proactively contribute to Project delivery and design.
This includes responsibility for all design of Lighting layouts, small power, containment, LV schematics, transformer sizing, etc.; Documentation: Detailed specification, equipment schedules, etc. General administration and compliance with project requirements for the disciplines. The following is an overview of the responsibilities of the role:

Skills and Experience

The Role:

  • Undertake and lead a full technical design, design markups and overseeing drawing production for project delivery on electrical projects.
  • Strong communicator, comfortable with client presentation, participating in and lead design team meetings
  • Production of detailed specifications and schedules to ensure compliance with the applicable standards and industry guides.
  • Complete all relevant designs by completing detailed calculations to meet the regulatory, industry, and business requirements.
  • Proficient in the use of engineering software tools including, Dialux or Relux, Amtech
  • Review of the co-ordinated construction drawings and documentation.
  • Detailed review of specialist supplier packages for compliance with project specifications and applicable industry standards.
  • Prepare and monitor technical submittals for approval.
  • Knowledge of testing, commissioning and certification of electrical services will be beneficial.
  • Experienced with multi-disciplinary design coordination.
  • Basic drawing production within AutoCAD or Revit would be beneficial.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Services Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • Experience in electrical project engineering or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems from a design or construction perspective.
  • Capable of working as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Good knowledge of the current electrical, fire alarm and emergency lighting standards.
  • Knowledge of key engineering software packages such as Dialux or Relux, Amtech and Navisworks is desirable but not essential.
