An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the team at Galliford Try within our Facilities Management Business.

Ideally, you will based in or around the Edinburgh area.

As Senior Electrical Engineer, you will manage the operations of GTFM electrical systems, ensuring they meet client requirements and that they are operated to relevant standards.

You will work with the site team to deliver planned and reactive services, over all disciplines. A Strong H&S knowledge is essential to the safe running of this key account. Identifying areas of improvement, problem solving and contractor management will for part of your daily duties.

What you will be doing:

  • Monitoring of Planned Preventative Maintenance, ensuring statutory compliance at all times.
  • Ensuring reactive, PPM tasks are completed on time.
  • Support GTFM Management with additional works for the client, building repairs and lifecycle maintenance.
  • Carrying out & Supervising Electrical planned/reactive/additional works in clients' buildings, including minor works, repairs, fault finding and fault diagnosis.
  • Ensure compliance with the Electrical Installation Regulations (17th/18th Edition Regs) at all times, and that the appropriate materials used.
  • To be fully conversant with all aspects of electrical installation works.
  • To liaise with other GTFM staff and Sub-contractors as necessary to ensure the timely completion of works within agreed operational targets.
  • Carry out and complete all works to high quality standards and in a competent manner in accordance with Galliford Try Health and Safety Standards, Clients Policies and Procedures and with the property being left in a clean and tidy condition.
  • To complete accurately all works allocated via a portable electronic device and update all tasks in a timely manner.
  • Working hours will be based Monday to Friday
  • Deliver Tool-Box-Talks, Attend meetings as required by GTFM management.
  • To act at all times in accordance with the Galliford Try rules, policies, procedures and financial regulations.

About You:

  • Electrical Qualification - 17th Edition as a minimum although 18th Edition training will be provided if required.
  • Electrical AP experience is required
  • Working as part of an FM team in healthcare experience would be advantageous.
  • Experience within a facilities management/ Hospital environment.
  • The successful applicant clearing a PVG Disclosure check.
  • Time served apprenticeship would be essential.
