About the role
As Senior EHCP Coordinator (Pre-14 team), you will:
- Be responsible for overseeing and managing the work of Pre-14 EHCP Coordinators within the SEND team, including supervision, appraisal and the induction of new team members as well as managing a reduced caseload.
- Ensure that performance standards and national indicators relating to the statutory EHCP processes are achieved and Coordinators undertake statutory processes in an efficient and timely manner, reaching appropriate placement decisions for children and young people aged 0-13.
- Be asked to meet with parents, schools and other agency representatives in order to negotiate, identify and develop positive solutions where children and young people have a complex range of needs.
- Be expected to advise and lead on more complex cases as required. You will be responsible for improving customer satisfaction levels for the service and act as a professional exemplar in carrying out all duties with a 'can do' attitude.
- Lead Annual Reviews and Transfer Reviews as required and monitor systems for the management of Review processes and take responsibility for managing the arrangements for Phase Transfer and transitions through liaison with Social Care and Health Services, schools, colleges and parents.
- Provide information for the purpose of appeals and attend mediations with the Team Manager/Tribunals and Resolutions Officer as appropriate. You will also attend tracking meetings and Panels.

About you
To be a Senior EHCP Coordinator (Pre-14 team) in AfC, you will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people as well as demonstrating the following points:
- Education to degree level or equivalent qualification/experience
- Knowledge of the principles and practice of Service providers across Education, Health and Social Care. They should also be adept in effective people management and have good knowledge of equality and disability issues
- Detailed knowledge of SEN law and the SEN Code of Practice, particularly in relation to Preparing for Adulthood
- High level communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a pressurised environment
