Do you have a passion for working with young people and want to make a difference? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior EET coach post within the Post 16 team.

About the role

The Post 16 team support any young person who is not in education employment or training (NEET) as well as tracking the participation of young people up to age 18. The role is fixed term for 4 months and involves supporting the EET coaches and delivering on the service objectives for NEET and Not Known. The Postholder will work very closely with the Team Manager for the service in identifying objectives. The Postholder will be expected to supervise members of the team; lead on areas of work such as risk of NEET, September Guarantee, and take a lead on other agreed areas of work with the Team Manager.

The post holder will also be expected to hold a caseload of young people including some of the most complex cases, and act as the Lead Practitioner for the service.

This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.

This position is currently based at our Castlewood offices in Clevedon. Please be advised that this office will be closed by 2025. Consultation is currently underway to determine the new location for colleagues based in Castlewood. This will be at Weston-super-Mare or within North Somerset.

About you

  • You will be highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • You will be able to prioritise your workload.
  • You will be highly organised.
  • Ideally you should be able to demonstrate that you have supervised the work of others.
  • You will be a great communicator and be able to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • You will have efficient use of ICT and be able to use and manipulate data.
  • You will have a sound knowledge of how to use Children's Services databases.
  • You will have a good understanding of policy and legislation with respect to the Post 16 Participation.
  • You will champion the needs of young people.
  • You will have direct experience of supporting young people and have worked in a a role providing Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG).
